Ingenia Communities has become
the first major developer to
achieve a Green Star Homes
Designed assessment for every
home design in its 262-home land
lease community in Beveridge, on
Melbourne’s northern fringe.
This is the first time all homes in a
master-planned community have
been designed to meet the Green
Star Homes Standard set by the
Green Building Council of Australia
(GBCA), setting a benchmark for
sustainable housing at scale.
“This initiative will not only deliver
sustainable, cost-effective housing
for downsizers but also build
capacity across the development
and construction industry,” Ingenia
CEO John Carfi said.
“By working closely with the GBCA
and our partners, we’re helping drive
the adoption of sustainable design
and construction methodologies
across Australia. This creates ripple
effects throughout the industry,
fostering upskilling, collaboration,
innovation and a higher standard
of sustainability in new home
development,” he said.
