SHOWCASING MEMBER CARAVAN PARKS
AT SUPERSHOW
The annual Victorian Caravan & Camping Supershow
allows the association to promote your caravan parks,
with more than 42,000 consumers visiting the annual
show this year.
It provides the perfect opportunity to get the association’s
Caravan, Camping and Cabin Guide straight into the
hands of engaged and enthusiastic caravanners and
campers, with 1500 handed out across the event.
With the latest guide printed under the VicParks logo,
and our new name just hours old when this year’s show
started, we decided to promote our event site as VicParks
to alleviate any confusion.
This year’s show was a great success for us (and therefore
you), with hundreds of guides taken by people keen to
know about your caravan parks. In fact, we ran out of
them this year!
Thank you to our wonderful members who volunteer to
host the stand.
This year’s hosts were Ben Johnson from KMAC
Powerheads, Jennie Walker from BIG4 Castlemaine
Gardens, Matt and Kaylene Linsley from Ararat’s Acacia
Caravan Park and Rosalind and Colin Mitchell from Marlo
Caravan Park.
Matt and Kaylene have volunteered at 14 association
stands over the years, saying it provides a wonderful
opportunity to help “promote Victorian caravan parks,
our town Ararat and of course our caravan park”.
“You have a captive audience with the shows - everyone
is there for caravaning, camping and travelling. They may
not have us on the radar, but we make sure they walk
away thinking of our park with our flyer in hand,” Kaylene
said.
“We also see it as an opportunity to let them know about
caravan parks, no matter what direction they’re travelling
in.”
Kaylene said the show also provided interactions with
potential customers who had driven through their town

but never stopped – by speaking to them, you can give
them a reason to stop.
“We have had customers stay at our park from Adelaide
before I even returned from the show. You also catch
up with past customers, another touch point for them
returning.”
With the couple now in a position to leave the park
together, they also use the opportunity to enjoy a few
extra well earned days off at the same time.
