Australia Day Award
HOLIDAY PARKS
FOR WALWA RIVERSIDE
Congratulations to Walwa Riverside Caravan Park for winning the Towong Shire’s Australia
Day Business of the Year Award for its contribution to the local community.
Nominations for the annual awards
are voted on by residents, with Heidi
and Kev Conway excited to have
come away with the prize.
“Everyone is extremely happy with
the way the park is being run and all
the improvements we have made in
the last eight years,”’ park operator
Heidi Conway said.
“Kev and I feel extremely
proud to have won this
award as it shows that we
are being appreciated for
all the hard work we have
put into the park, which
we love doing and look
forward to even more
improvements going
forward.”
The leasehold park, located on the
banks on the Upper Murrary, also
gives back to the local community
with an annual fundraiser, which has
seen money donated to the Walwa/
Jingellic CFA and Walwa Bush
Nursing Centre. The most recent in
March raised $2500 for the Walwa/
Jingellic Lions Club.
“As Walwa is a small town of roughly
320 people, the local community
benefit from the caravan park due
to the number of guests we have
staying at the park, which has tripled
since we have been here.” Heidi
said.
