Collaborative approach to
playground design at Yea Riverside
As an Australian made and owned manufacturer, at Omnitech playgrounds we pride
ourselves on producing high quality and visually striking playgrounds built to last through
many years of enjoyment by the greater community.
Partnering with Yea Riverside Caravan Park to design
and construct their new play space, we created a vibrant
playground with a variety of challenges across different
ages and abilities that’s sure to attract patrons to the park
and enrich their visit.
The client desired a nature effect with an impressive
tower, complementing the beautifull shady trees within
the area.
Achieved through a bright natural colour scheme, natural
rope and composite timber cladding, the playground
strikes the balance between standing out yet harmonising
with the leafy surrounds of the regional Victorian bush.
The tall tower extends between the trees offering a
multitude of vantage points across the unit and the
adjacent rope net, providing children with fantastic
360-degree views of the caravan park and easy
supervision from nearby parents and carers.
From the initial brief of a nature-inspired tower unit with
slides, a climbing net and freestanding equipment, our
preliminary concept design evolved into the multi-age
playground which became the exciting tower that now
stands proudly within the caravan park.
Collaborating with the council and client, we developed
and refined our design to fully realise their creative vision
and meet the needs of the play space.
Through this process we added and interchanged
equipment, enhancing the layout to create a
grander tower for a more challenging and exciting
environment, inspiring adventure and fun for all ages.
Once the final design was approved, our experienced
team of fabricators set to work manufacturing the
equipment at our factory in Somerton.
