GRANTS SUPPORT
CARAVAN PARK UPGRADES
Several member caravan parks are proceeding with plans to upgrade accommodation and
facilities, with many projects made possible through government grants.
Seven caravan parks have secured funding
via the 2024 Regional Tourism Investment
Fund, which supports innovative tourism
infrastructure projects across regional and
rural Victoria.

Beaufort Lake re-development
In Western Victoria, phase one of the redevelopment of
Beaufort Lake Caravan Park is now complete.
The $1 million upgrade was made possible through a
$500,000 Victorian Government Regional Infrastructure
grant matched with another $500,000 by the Pyrenees
Shire Council, which operates the park.
The redevelopment included power, wastewater,
plumbing and drainage upgrades as well as the addition
of seven new cabins, including four studio apartments, a
duplex offering two, 2-bedroom units and an accessible
cabin.
Pyrenees Shire Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Kehoe said
it was fantastic to see phase one of the caravan park
redevelopment completed.
Tiny Towns funding
Moyne Shire Council has received a Tiny Towns grant for
refurbishment works at Killarney Beach Caravan Park and
Reserve.
A council spokesman said the caravan park and reserve
is a popular visitor and sporting facility but its multi-use
pavilion/amenities building was significantly dated and
required refurbishment to ensure efficiency, safety and
compliance.
The project will involve installing internal walls and
a hanging ceiling, electrical and plumbing works,
replacement of a rotted window, installation of a split
system AC, carpet tiles for office area, external painting,
path concreting, installation of two x pan toilet systems,
bitumen/spray seal for check-in area and updating
signage.
This will allow continued use by the cricket club over
summer in one half of the building, with the other half
used as the caravan park reception area for staff and
guests, replacing the portable currently used for an
office and guest check in.
As per funding guidelines, the upgrade will be completed
by September next year.
